Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for an Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team! This position will support the Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology and Infusion Departments at our San Marcos, New Braunfels and Kyle locations. This is a full‑time position Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with no weekends, call or major holidays.

This position can be a level 1, 2, or Sr based on candidate experience.

What is the Long‑Term Incentive Plan (LTIP)?

LTIP is an incentive program that typically vests over a three‑year period and is tied to both individual performance and the operational success of Texas Oncology. Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care for patients, adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. The RN must recognize physical, psychological and spiritual aspects of care and participate in company‑wide quality initiatives. The RN supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Assess health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history; assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional material; provide psychosocial support.
  • Facilitate clinical operations and patient care: triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient’s chart; facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care; assist patients in locating available community resources.
  • Inter‑professional collaboration: act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) will have the following background and experience:
