Responsibilities

  • Provide physical assessments of patients and implement treatment plans.
  • Evaluate patients’ responses to treatment and document findings accurately.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and provide health‑care education to patients and families.
  • Supervise mental health technicians and LVN staff during the shift and ensure a safe, therapeutic environment.
  • Provide direct patient care and management of children, adolescents, and young adults as directed by the physician and treatment team.
  • Assure safety, supervision, and crisis management for patient populations.
  • Assist in the management of a therapeutic milieu.
  • Work weekends (Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 AM–10:00 PM).

Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • One year of psychiatric or neuropsychiatric experience with adolescents and/or young adults in a long‑term hospital or residential setting preferred.
  • Current Texas professional nurse license and valid driver’s license.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; maintains confidentiality of patient and employee information.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to implement patient care services.
  • Demonstrated ability to carry out all phases of the nursing process and provide safe nursing care while understanding patient rights.
  • Basic supervisory skills.
