Schedule / Job TypeContract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Provide routine and complex nursing care in a Level 2 NICU setting, practicing independently and demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of each patient situation
- Deliver nursing care utilizing the full nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — consistent with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice
- Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly
- May float to mother/baby unit as needed; assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers
- Active RN license in the state of Texas or a valid compact nursing license
- Current STABLE (Post-resuscitation/Pre-transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants) certification required — Participant, Lead Instructor, or Support Instructor
- Current BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in NICU or a related neonatal/perinatal nursing specialty
- Must attend New Nurse Orientation within the first 30 days; completion of organizational and Perinatal Services-specific competency validations required upon onboarding
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Experience in a Perinatal RN Residency program or recent practice in a perinatal setting
- Demonstrated ability to make appropriate assignments and delegate effectively to other care team members
- Opportunity to work in a specialized Level 2 NICU environment, gaining valuable experience in neonatal and perinatal care
- 13-week contract with a projected start date in fall 2026, offering a defined and structured travel assignment
