Position: Army Transport Aircraft Quality Assurance Inspector (UC-35/C-26 QA Inspector) - San Marcos, TX.

The Army Transport Aircraft Quality Assurance Inspector (
UC-35 Citation/C-26
Metroliner)

is responsible for auditing and analyzing aircraft maintenance, training, environmental health and safety programs, policies, processes and procedures, ensuring that performance and quality conform to established standards and guidelines.

  • In-depth knowledge of Army Aviation maintenance processes with an emphasis on95.20 requirements required.

  • In-depth knowledge of commercial and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) quality systems is required.

  • (FAA) A&P Certificate is Required.

  • Five (5) years of Army Aviation QA Inspector experience, UC-35 Citation and C-26 Metroliner aircraft preferred.

  • US Citizenship is Required to obtain the US Govt Secret Security Clearance required for this opportunity.

  • Ability to implement and ensure compliance within the International Standard Organization (ISO)-9001:2008 program.

  • Maintain inspection schedules and verify procedures are followed, maintain QA program to ensure accuracy and timely reporting.

  • Perform scheduled audits & follow procedures on documenting failures and quality escapes.

  • Provide expertise and guidance in interpreting governmental regulations, agency guidelines, internal policies and technical procedures to assure compliance.

  • Assist the Quality Manager in implementing and auditing processes and programs.

  • Ensure quality, environmental, health and safety standards comply with statutory requirements.

  • Enforce compliance of operational personnel, company requirements and governmental regulations.

  • Review operational reports to determine the requirements for increasing safety.

  • Provide leadership and knowledge to the Quality department, provide on-the-spot assistance to correct problems.

  • Assist in Maintenance Data Systems Analysis with investigations and studies.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of industrial safety programs, workers’ compensation, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements and Code of Federal Regulations.

  • Initiate corrective actions when additional attention is required to resolve adverse maintenance trends or training problems.

  • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is Required.

  • A valid (
    FAA) A&P Certificate Airframe and Power plant is Required.

  • Five (5) years of QA Inspector experience is Required, Five (5) years of hands‑on Inspector/maintainer experience on the assigned UC-35 Citation and/or C-26 Metroliner MDS (Mission design series aircraft) is desired.

  • Experience may be in any combination of the following areas: US Army Maintenance Quality Assurance, International Standardization Organization (ISO)-9000 or Safety and Environmental Compliance is Required.

  • Broad knowledge of ISO-9001 Quality system is required, must be familiar with the ISO/AS 9100 Quality and FAA 14 CFR Part 145 regulatory requirements.

  • Excellent communication, effective leadership and interpersonal skills are required.

  • Must be willing and able to work any shift/schedule assigned to meet operational requirements. (Standard work week, (M-F 7:30 to 16:30) 40 hours a week.

  • Travel within the CONUS US may be required as needed in support of mission requirements.

AR-95 A&P Pre‑employment Medical Requirement
  • Medical/Physical. All personnel performing engine runs, ground taxi, ordnance loading, or operating self‑propelled support equipment within Ten (10) feet of the aircraft silhouette must pass a physical examination from a qualified medical professional prior to conducting these operations, and subsequently on a specified periodic basis, not to exceed Five (5) years.

Security Clearance Requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Govt Secret Security Clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials and authorization. US Citizenship is Required to hold a Secret Security Clearance, and facility credentials and authorization to work at this site location.

Additional Preferred and Physical Qualifications
  • Inspector tool bag, mirror and flashlight, required.
