Position Summary

As a Member Services Associate, you will perform a variety of responsibilities related to safety, inventory, customer service, and teamwork on the sales floor.

Responsibilities
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing action plans using the Open Door Policy.
  • Operate a forklift safely in accordance with company standards and guidelines, picking up, moving, and positioning merchandise pallets.
  • Complete work assignments and priorities using policy, data, and resources, collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and other partners to identify priorities, deadlines, and expectations while communicating progress and recommending improvements.
  • Receive stocks and organize merchandise and supplies from distribution centers and suppliers, manage inventory flow, follow equipment use policies, handle inventory exceptions, correct shelf capacities, and maintain required documentation.
  • Provide member service by acknowledging members, identifying member needs, offering guidance on self‑service technology, assisting with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, resolving issues, and promoting company products and services.
  • Maintain safety of the facility by conducting safety sweeps, following forklift spotting procedures, handling hazardous materials, following steel standard guidelines, and reporting unsafe situations to management.
  • Maintain the sales floor and merchandising presentation by zoning the area, stocking and rotating merchandise, removing damaged or out‑of‑date goods, setting up cleaning and organizing product displays, maintaining modular integrity, receiving, sorting, staging, and delivering merchandise, and ensuring promotional and seasonal merchandise is prominently displayed.
  • Process defective merchandise following company and regulatory policies for sanitation and food safety, and monitor shrink, security risks, and safety.
  • Ensure club pick‑up orders are filled by assisting with picking and staging products, ensuring timely completion, and performing occasional audits for accuracy.
  • Handle inventory moves and displays safely, track goods, maintain in‑stock levels, control shrinkage, and report poor inventory practices.
  • Operate and maintain forklifts safely, report unsafe conditions, and inform management when equipment is not in proper working order.
  • Proactively identify customers who need help, engage them, and assist with technology services and items, while modeling and helping others.
  • Identify shrink opportunities and problems, take steps to fix them promptly, and ensure equipment and products are organized and stocked correctly.
  • Foster a respectful workplace by embracing differences, nurturing trustful relationships, communicating with impact and positivity, mentoring others, and recognizing contributions.
  • Act with integrity by maintaining high standards of ethics and compliance, modeling Walmart values, holding self and others accountable, and supporting the company’s regenerative goals.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 90 days of prior experience operating a forklift and forklift certification.
  • Ability to safely utilize pallet jacks.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Customer Service Experience.
  • Retail Experience.
  • Experience supervising a team.
