Director of Sales, Business Development
Responsibilities
San Marcos Treatment Center, a 212-bed, seclusion free psychiatric residential treatment facility located between Austin and San Antonio in Central Texas. The facility spans 65 acres and includes 13 unique living units, two swimming pools, two gymnasiums, a sports court, playing fields, a ropes course, a canteen, social areas, and a healing trail. We provide 24‑hour psychiatric care to girls and boys ages 6 to 17 using customized therapeutic approaches to help patients moderate behavior, manage emotions, and improve social functioning.
The Director of Business Development oversees Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service activities within the Marketing Department and is responsible for achieving desired utilization of the organization’s continuum of care through effective marketing principles and methods.
As a member of the facility management team, the Director is actively involved in discussions related to strategic planning, growth opportunities, future projects, program changes, recruitment, and retention.
The Director manages the facility’s strategic marketing plan, enhances brand image, manages all sales and business development activities, and maintains a productive working relationship with internal departments. The Director communicates issues or potential problems proactively, especially with the CEO and Director of Admissions/Intake.
Hours are based on departmental and facility needs and may include day, evening, and weekend hours, as directed by the CEO or Managing Director.
QualificationsEducation:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field is required;
Master’s Degree is a plus. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience:
At least three (3) years of leadership experience in a health care business development position with extensive community education and measurable results. Direct experience developing managed care agreements, especially with capitation and at‑risk areas, is required. Candidates with detailed knowledge of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment principles are highly preferred; prior marketing and/or sales experience within a behavioral healthcare setting is also highly preferred.
Licensure:
Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
