Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Position Overview

Walmart is expanding its local retail workforce and is actively recruiting a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician. Your role will support and oversee repair of Walmart facility’s refrigeration and HVAC equipment using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills with hand tools and equipment.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility’s refrigeration and HVAC equipment using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive, support, and document repair work orders.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations per Walmart’s safety policy.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently.

• 2 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I, Type II, or EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR check.
• Minimum 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and at least 2 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field; alternatively 4 years of such experience.

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city or state where the job is located.

• Hourly wage range: $23.00–$45.00, plus possible premium incentives up to $3.00 per hour.
