This position is for 24 hours a week. Shifts available: 6a - 2p, 2p - 10p and 10p - 6a. Must have weekend shift availability.
San Marcos Treatment Center, a 212‑bed, seclusion‑free, psychiatric residential treatment facility located between Austin and San Antonio in Central Texas. The center spans 65 acres with trees, wildlife, 13 unique living units separated by gender, age, and development level, two swimming pools, two gyms, sports court, playing fields, ropes course, canteen, social area, and a healing trail. We provide 24‑hour psychiatric care to girls and boys ages 6‑17 with customized therapeutic approaches and intensive behavioral programs teaching young patients to moderate behavior, manage emotions, and improve social functioning.

The Mental Health Associates (MHA) role is on the front lines of treatment for the children in our care. Providing a safe and therapeutic environment and implementing the daily program schedule are primary responsibilities. Accurate clinical and administrative documentation and communication with co‑workers, supervisors, and other team members regarding patient care and safety concerns are also required.

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current CPR certification preferred
- Psychiatric experience preferred (2 years)
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Able to pass a criminal background check and pre‑employment drug screening
