I. Job Summary

Safely operates a tractor-trailer or a straight truck with a pup trailer (or other vehicle requiring a Class A CDL) to perform assigned duties on designated routes.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operates vehicle in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements as well as all local, state and federal laws and Company expectations for WM.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle using DVIR; notes issues for corrective review/repair.
• Notifies Operations Manager and Dispatch of unsafe situations or service calls.
• Attends and participates in all scheduled training and meetings as required.
• Works with Operations Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
• Notifies Operations Manager of incidents, injuries, or property damage.
• Notifies of service interruptions including blocked streets or hazards.
• Communicates customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Completes end-of-day documentation and check-out process.
• Performs other duties as scheduled and assists other drivers as needed.

III. Qualifications

A. Required Qualifications

• 1 year operating a CDL vehicle or 1 year equivalent military driving within last 7 years
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work
• Pre-employment screening including drug screen and physical
• CDL Class A with air-brake endorsement or CDL Class B with air-brake endorsement

B. Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (accredited)
