About the RoleWorking under minimal supervision, the Facilities Project Manager provides project management services for facilities‑related projects supporting operational needs across the institution. This role focuses on the coordination and delivery of large repair projects, small to mid‑size renovations, and major technical or infrastructure upgrades.
Essential Duties- Develop project scopes and objectives in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with operational needs and technical feasibility.
- Manage a portfolio of facilities projects, including large repairs, renovations, and system upgrades.
- Develop and manage project budgets; track expenditures to ensure alignment with approved funding and scope.
- Develop project schedules and ensure timely delivery with minimal disruption to campus operations.
- Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, consultants, and vendors throughout all phases of projects.
- Oversee procurement processes, including scopes of work, bid coordination, and contract administration.
- Ensure projects comply with applicable codes, regulations, and institutional standards.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks and operational impacts.
- Review plans, specifications, and technical documents to support project execution.
- Coordinate project activities in active, occupied environments with sensitivity to visitors, staff, and collections.
- Prepare, maintain, and administer project documentation and reporting.
- Support continuous improvement of facilities project delivery processes.
- May perform other project‑related and departmental duties as assigned.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a proactive and solutions‑oriented approach.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing facilities‑related projects, including repairs, renovations, and building systems upgrades.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects in operational or occupied environments.
- Experience coordinating with internal stakeholders and external vendors/contractors.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents.
- Understanding of project risks and ability to proactively address issues.
- Self‑starter with strong problem‑solving skills and sound professional judgment.
- Strong customer service orientation with emphasis on collaboration and responsiveness.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), project scheduling tools (MS Project or similar), plan review tools (e.g., Bluebeam); familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus.
The Huntington campus is extensive and diverse; this role requires working across indoor and outdoor environments, including regular site walks, coordination in active construction/repair areas, and interaction with staff and visitors.
Compensation & BenefitsPay Range: $75,000.00–$80,000.00 annually, commensurate with experience.
