Position Summary
The firm is seeking a full-time Senior Fund Accountant to join its Finance team. This hybrid role (Mon–Thu in-office, Fri remote) reports to the Fund Controller and is responsible for overseeing fund accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting for multiple investment funds.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and oversee the preparation of quarterly/annual fund financial statements by the fund administrator in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage capital activity including calls, distributions, and partner capital allocations.
- Review reconciliations of investment, cash, and partner capital accounts.
- Review management fee and waterfall allocations, including carried interest and preferred returns.
- Oversee fund expense allocations per fund policies.
- Ensure compliance with partnership agreements, regulations, and internal controls.
- Coordinate and manage annual fund audits with external auditors.
- Assist in portfolio valuation reviews and cross-functional projects with Finance, Legal, Investor Relations, and Investment teams.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, automation, and risk reduction.
- Present annual process improvement outcomes to leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5+ years of private equity fund accounting or administration experience preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with fund accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.
- Strong written/verbal communication skills.
- U.S. work authorization required.
- CPA designation or active pursuit preferred.
