Staff Accountant - Full-Time Engagement Professional

Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a full-time engagement opportunity with one of our valued clients. This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and has experience with general accounting functions, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and committed to maintaining accurate financial records while supporting business operations.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness

+ Perform bank, account, and balance sheet reconciliations

+ Assist with month-end and year-end close processes

+ Maintain the general ledger and ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately

+ Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed

+ Prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation

+ Analyze account activity and investigate discrepancies

+ Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis projects

+ Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation

+ Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls

+ Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and increase efficiency

Requirements

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

+ 2-5 years of accounting experience

+ Knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles

+

Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

+ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

+ Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

+ Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

+

Experience with ERP systems such as Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics

+ Public accounting or corporate accounting experience

+ CPA eligibility or progress toward CPA certification is a plus

+

Experience with process improvement initiatives and financial reporting
