Tax Preparer (Seasonal / Part-Time or Full-Time)

We are seeking a Tax Preparer to support peak filing deadlines in October and April, with a focus on individual 1040 returns and less complex business tax returns. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience preparing and reviewing tax returns, gathering client documentation, identifying missing information, and helping ensure timely and accurate filings during high-volume periods.

Key Responsibilities

+ Prepare and review 1040 individual income tax returns.

+ Prepare less complex business returns, including basic entity filings as assigned.

+ Organize and analyze client financial and tax documentation.

+ Communicate with clients regarding missing information, follow-up items, and filing requirements.

+ Ensure returns are completed accurately and in compliance with current tax regulations.

+ Support tax season workflow and meet critical filing deadlines in April and October.

Requirements

Qualifications

+ Prior experience preparing 1040s and less complex business tax returns.

+ Proficiency with Lacerte is highly preferred.

+ Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a deadline-driven environment.

+ Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume workload during peak season.

+ CPA, EA, or related tax credentials are a plus, but not required.

Schedule

+ Open to part-time or full-time hours based on candidate availability and business needs.

+ Ideal for professionals available during the April and October tax deadlines.
