Responsibilities
  • End-to-end design execution: Own visual design and user experience flows across web and mobile (iOS/Android) — from flows and wireframes through high‑fidelity UI, interaction, and motion design — meeting accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) throughout.
  • Data visualization & clinical insights:Design flows, dashboards, and data displays that turn complex data into actionable insights.
  • Design language & system: Create Cala’s visual and interaction design language and the system behind it — component library, design tokens, versioning — so it scales across form factors and accessibility modes and maps directly to front‑end implementation.
  • User research & validation: With Product Management, conduct Voice of Customer (VOC) research, interviews, and usability testing for early‑stage discovery and post‑design acceptance testing.
  • Multimodal UI:Partner with product and engineering to turn concepts into high‑fidelity design documents, including notification and feedback moments across connected devices.
  • Design documentation & handoff:Author and maintain UI/UX documentation, redlines, and specifications with rigorous version control for handoff to engineering.
  • Design leadership & scaling:Lead cross‑functional design reviews from concept through implementation, and scale design operations to support Cala’s growth in a regulated medical device environment.
Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Human‑Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, related disciplines, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of digital UI/UX or product design experience with shipped web and mobile products, including healthcare platforms for patients and/or clinicians within HIPAA regulations and data privacy/Protected Health Information (PHI) constraints.
  • Deep understanding of native mobile design standards, including Apple Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) and Google Material Design.
  • Deep knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and inclusive design, and direct experience…
