The Carey School, a preschool to 5th grade independent school in San Mateo, California seeks an experienced educator for a temporary 3rd-5th grade Mandarin teacher position in a hands-on, active learning environment. As a member of the world language team, and a member of the faculty, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience collaborating with colleagues, designing inquiry-based curriculum and integrating content across class and content areas.

In addition to a command of the Mandarin language and curriculum and curriculum at 3rd-5th grade levels, candidates must have a strong understanding of children's developmental level and practice utilizing differentiated instruction strategies to meet the needs of all learners. This is a temporary, full-time, exempt position, with benefits and employment is expected to be from October 7, 2026 - April 16, 2027. The anticipated salary range the school reasonably expects to pay candidates for this position is based on an annual salary of $105K - $115K, depending on factors such as experience or education.
