Infant Teacher – Early Childhood Education
The Infant Teacher provides warm, responsive, and consistent care for infants during their earliest stages of development. This role focuses on building secure attachments, supporting daily routines, and encouraging early growth through gentle, intentional interactions. You help infants and families feel safe, supported, and connected.
Infant Care & Daily Routines:
- Provide responsive care including feeding, diapering, soothing, and safe sleep practices
- Maintain predictable routines that support comfort and emotional security
- Ensure a safe, clean, and developmentally appropriate environment
- Support individualized care plans based on each infant's needs
Development & Learning Support:
- Support sensory exploration, tummy time, and motor skill development
- Encourage early language through talking, singing, reading, and interaction
- Use responsive caregiving to build trust, attachment, and emotional regulation
- Observe and document developmental milestones and progress
- Provide activities that support early curiosity and exploration
Family Communication:
- Maintain daily communication with families regarding routines and milestones
- Share updates on development, behavior, and care needs
- Build strong, trusting, and respectful relationships with parents
- Provide guidance and support when needed
Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all Title 22 licensing and safety regulations
- Maintain safe sleep practices and infant supervision standards
- Ensure proper sanitation (diapering, bottle prep, cleaning, hygiene routines)
- Maintain accurate documentation (logs, incident reports, attendance, medication records)
- Participate in safety drills and emergency procedures
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with co-teachers to maintain consistency and classroom flow
- Support classroom organization and daily preparation
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development
Qualifications:
- 24 ECE units including Infant/Toddler coursework required
- Experience working with infants (0–18 months) required
- AA or BA in ECE or related field preferred
- California Child Development Teacher Permit preferred
- CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain
- Strong understanding of infant development, health, and safety practices
