Who We Are

WHB Engineers is a well‑established and growing Civil Engineering and Construction Management firm with offices in San Diego, San Mateo, Dublin, Pleasant Hill, and Chico, California. Our firm provides a full array of engineering, public works design, construction, and project management services.

We are looking for a Senior Engineer (Engineer IV) with a minimum of nine or more years of experience. The ideal candidate is a dependable and adaptable civil engineering professional, capable of marketing and winning work, supervising a team, and carrying out administrative duties. Experience in client management and sales is a plus. The candidate demonstrates strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills, works independently while thriving in a team environment, and is personable and professional.

This position is onsite and based in our San Mateo office.

• Supervises the work of Staff Engineers
• Assists with the preparation of proposals, job performance and serves as the firm's responsible contact with various client Project Managers
• Ensures projects are profitable and on schedule and meet the requirements of our clients
• Mentors and supports staff
• Maintains client relationships
• Performs other responsibilities as assigned

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum nine or more years of demonstrated design with project management experience
• California PE License required
• Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills, including an ability to interact professionally and knowledgeably with clients
• Self‑motivated, goal oriented, with strong attention to detail
• Solid experience with the MS Office Suite

We offer a generous salary and benefits package that includes company‑paid medical and dental insurance, vacation, and a 401(k) plan. The salary range for this position is $137,000 to $160,000, depending upon experience.
