THEOPPORTUNITY
Our client is a high-growth, subscription-based technology organization seeking an Interim Senior FP&A Manager to provide senior-level planning, forecasting, and performance management support during a period of continued expansion and increasing operational complexity. Reporting to the Head of Global FP&A, this role will partner closely with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to strengthen forecasting rigor, enhance reporting visibility, and support strategic decision-making.
The company operates across multiple entities and international regions, and the FP&A function is evolving from spreadsheet-heavy workflows toward more system-driven forecasting and structured planning processes. This engagement is ideal for an FP&A leader who combines strong business partnership skills with hands‑on modeling capability and a track record of driving process improvement.
This role is partially remote, with an expectation of a weekly in‑office presence in the San Mateo area (typically Tuesday through Thursday).
RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles, ensuring consistent cadence, clear assumptions, and strong forecast integrity.
- Build and maintain long‑range financial models (3–5 year outlook), supporting strategic planning and growth initiatives.
- Own revenue, expense, and cash flow projections, including scenario analysis and sensitivity modeling.
- Partner with functional leaders across Sales, Marketing, Product, and Operations to align operational plans with financial targets.
- Prepare executive‑ready reporting, including board‑level and investor‑facing materials, with clear narrative and key takeaways.
- Lead monthly business reviews and variance analyses, providing driver‑based insights and actionable recommendations.
- Develop and refine KPI dashboards and operating metrics to improve transparency and performance management.
- Identify key financial risks and opportunities and communicate them clearly to leadership with proposed mitigation actions.
- Drive enhancements to FP&A processes, reporting automation, and planning workflows to reduce cycle time and improve consistency.
- Support improvements to financial systems and data integration, helping shift forecasting toward system‑led processes.
- Mentor and develop junior FP&A team members, contributing to skill building and performance improvement across the team.
- Collaborate effectively across distributed teams and time zones, supporting global planning and reporting needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field required.
- 7+ years of progressive FP&A experience;
SaaS or subscription‑based business experience strongly preferred. - Strong financial modeling skills and advanced Excel proficiency.
- Strong understanding of SaaS metrics and growth drivers (e.g., ARR, CAC, LTV, churn dynamics).
- Experience with ERP and FP&A systems preferred (Net Suite and/or planning tools such as Planful are a plus).
- Prior consulting or interim engagement experience preferred.
- Experience operating in an investor‑driven or private equity‑backed environment is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to independently lead process improvements, systems initiatives, and cross‑functional financial projects.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with executive‑level presence.
- Ability to work across international teams and multiple time zones.
- Ability to commute to the San Mateo area for a weekly in‑office cadence (typically Tuesday through Thursday).
