Travel Mammography Technologist – San Mateo, CA

Job Overview

Seeking a highly skilled Mammography Technologist for a 13‑week travel assignment in San Mateo, CA, performing mammography procedures in physician offices, clinics, or hospital settings as directed by a licensed provider.

Qualifications
  • Certified Mammography Technician with at least 2 years of experience.
  • AHA Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers.
  • BSN from an accredited nursing program and proper licensure (if required).
  • Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Motivated with a desire for career growth; compassionate, sensitive, critical thinker, and responsive to emergencies.
Responsibilities
  • Utilize AIDET when communicating with patients to identify service requirements, ensure correct exam, and establish rapport.
  • Instruct patients or families regarding the test and assess tolerance.
  • Prepare patient/area by positioning, adjusting devices, moving equipment, and setting exposure factors.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to safety, infection‑control, drug and radiation policies; use proper sterile techniques and maintain hand hygiene.
  • Collaborate with engineers and physicists to maintain equipment; report issues to management.
  • Obtain and maintain all relevant documentation: requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status, shielding precautions, consent forms, etc.
