Job Summary

Join our dynamic Global Privacy Legal Team as a transformational Legal Privacy Director, where your expertise in US and global data protection laws will shape the future of privacy in the digital entertainment world. You’ll lead innovative, business‑friendly privacy solutions that advance our video games, digital entertainment, and technology initiatives. In this pivotal role, you’ll advise product teams on emerging technologies such as interactive entertainment, content streaming, and virtual reality while serving over 100 million players worldwide.

What you’ll be doing
  • Lead a team of privacy legal experts, advising the business across the Americas and counseling on data privacy and protection laws (including COPPA, CCPA, and other state and federal laws).
  • Partner with the SIE Global Privacy Team to maintain and scale the global privacy program.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Product, Engineering, Information Security, IT, Marketing), internal partners, and legal specialists to solve privacy and data issues while delivering exceptional entertainment experiences.
  • Lead SIE’s response to new and evolving data protection and privacy laws, breach notification requirements, and frameworks impacting personal information processing in the United States, providing practical and strategic advice.
  • Lead design, development, and implementation of data privacy policies, standards, and processes supporting SIE business operations in the Americas.
  • Balance consumer data protection with enabling strategic data use for business objectives.
What we are looking for
  • At least 15 years of proven experience managing US domestic and global privacy and related data protection compliance, including supervisory or managerial experience.
  • CA bar membership preferred; must qualify for and maintain Registered In‑House Counsel status in California.
  • Experience creating and implementing privacy and related international and domestic data protection policies and maintaining an agile compliance program.
  • Familiarity with social privacy issues, data lifecycle, data governance, and emerging digital technologies, including AI.
  • Ability to communicate sophisticated legal, technical, and business concepts to non‑legal professionals and senior management.
  • Privacy certifications preferred (CIPP/US, CIPP/E).

International travel and calls at late or early hours due to time‑zone differences may be required.

Compensation

$271,300 - $406,900 USD
