Our client, a leading organization in the technology and data solutions industry, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Database Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a Database Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Data Operations department supporting innovative application and analytics initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully within the organization.

Pay Range: $75 - 80/h + Benefits

• Design and develop efficient, scalable database solutions aligned to business requirements.
• Install, configure, and upgrade database software and related tools to ensure optimal performance.
• Monitor database performance and optimize queries, indexes, and schemas for reliability and speed.
• Implement and maintain database security controls to safeguard sensitive data.
• Collaborate with application developers to optimize schema designs and SQL queries, troubleshooting incidents and providing timely resolutions across environments.

• Strong understanding of AWS and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for database resources.
• Proven experience as a Database Engineer or DBA, with deep knowledge of DBMSs such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Redshift.
• Proficiency in SQL and query optimization techniques.
• Solid grasp of data modeling, normalization, and schema design principles.
• Hands-on experience with performance tuning, monitoring, and disaster recovery procedures.
