Senior Engineering Technician – Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL)
Our autonomous vehicle development team is moving fast, and we are looking for a precision-focused Engineering Technician to join the Software Hardware-in-the-Loop (SW HIL) team.
In this role, you won't just be maintaining systems—you will be building the actual custom infrastructure and simulation environments used to validate next-generation autonomous software. If you love building custom computers, routing flawless wire harnesses, and keeping complex server racks running seamlessly under tight R&D timelines, we want to talk to you.
What You’ll Do Daily- Custom Systems Integration:
Assemble custom, high-performance computing hardware utilizing off-the-shelf components. Integrate complex vehicle systems and networking hardware directly into server racks. - HIL Simulation Support:
Fabricate, modify, and track multiple generations of custom test platforms to enable continuous, predictable software simulation environments. - Electrical & Harnessing Work:
Build, pin, and route custom cable harnesses directly from complex technical schematics, wire diagrams, and engineering drawings. - Diagnostics & Triaging:
Partner directly with the engineering teams to root-cause, troubleshoot, and repair technical anomalies across test equipment using DMMs and oscilloscopes. - Operational Flow:
Document modifications, manage inventory hardware changes, and track system incidents utilizing internal ticketing infrastructure. Coordinate with cross-functional logistics teams for component rollouts and decommissioning. - Physical Execution:
Handle low-ground wiring infrastructure (crawling/bending required) and safely maneuver computing assets weighing up to 50 lbs with assistance.
- Proven Track Record: 3+ years of professional hands-on experience in a dedicated engineering lab, automotive R&D shop, or technical manufacturing environment.
- Technical Hardware Mastery:
Demonstrable experience building, modifying, and troubleshooting custom computer builds, networking systems, and server setups. - Precision Diagnostic
Skills:
Fluent with fundamental shop tools, digital multimeters (DMM), oscilloscopes, and specialized wire-harnessing tools. - Strong Documentation Habits:
Highly organized with clear, actionable tracking skills. - Standout Technical Skillsets (Bonus):
Familiarity with Linux environments, executing basic scripts, or hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, and Google Workspace. A B.S. in an Engineering discipline is highly valued.
To keep our pipeline moving efficiently, we utilize a transparent, swift two-step interview process. Please ensure you are available for the required onsite component before applying:
An initial screening and technical alignment call via Zoom with the HIL Team Hiring Manager.
Strict Federal Compliance Requirements:
Due to the proprietary nature of our autonomous driving systems and compliance with U.S. Export Control Regulations (including ITAR/EAR), this position requires access to highly sensitive technical data and hardware.
- U.S. Person Status
Required:
All candidates must legally qualify as a "U.S. Person" under federal definition (U.S. Citizen, Lawful Permanent Resident / Green Card Holder, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)). - No Sponsorship:
We are strictly unable to offer corporate visa sponsorship, visa transfers, or student work authorization extensions (such as H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, or CPT) for this contract assignment. Unrestricted, independent right to work in the U.S. must be established prior to onboarding.
