Arabic Interpreter; Bay Area

Overview

Arabic Interpreter (Bay Area) – Independent contractor position offering a flexible work schedule and ongoing opportunities. The interpreter will provide professional interpreting services primarily in healthcare settings. Assignments are based in the Bay Area and are available on a regular basis, depending on demand for specific languages and the interpreter's qualifications.

• Interpret orally between Arabic and English in both directions, ensuring accuracy and fidelity to the original communication.
• Provide interpretation in medical, legal, and community settings as required, with sensitivity to cultural and linguistic nuances.
• Work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
• Support the communication needs of medical professionals, patients, government agencies, community organizations, and internal stakeholders.

• Fluency in both Arabic and English
• Demonstrated experience providing accurate, complete, and clear interpretation with fidelity to the original communication
• Strong ability to interpret orally between Arabic and English in both directions
• Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
• Skilled in meeting the communication needs of medical professionals, patients, government agencies, community organizations, and internal stakeholders
• Combination of formal interpreter training and/or relevant professional experience
• Willingness to obtain required medical clearances, including vaccination/immunization records and background checks, as necessary
• Possession of a valid California license
