About the RoleThe Director of Operations & Growth is a hands‑on leadership role working directly with the founder to help scale Central Conduit from a founder‑led company into a stronger, more systemized national supplier.
This role touches sales, quoting, vendor coordination, customer follow‑up, logistics, purchasing, process improvement, systems, and team building.
The right person will be comfortable operating in the details while also helping build the systems that allow the company to scale.
Minimum Qualifications- Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving ability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑moving environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working directly with customers, vendors, and internal team members
- Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to follow through without constant supervision
- Willingness to learn products, quoting, operations, logistics, and business systems quickly
- Comfortable using technology, AI tools, and automation to improve workflows
- Experience in electrical supply, industrial distribution, construction, logistics, supply chain, project management, or operations
- Experience working in a founder‑led, family‑owned, entrepreneurial, or high‑growth business
- Sales or business development experience with strong operational instincts
- Military operations or leadership experience
- Experience improving processes, documenting workflows, or implementing systems
- Familiarity with ERP, CRM, quoting, order management, or customer service systems
- Learn Central Conduit’s products, vendors, fabrication model, customer base, and quoting process
- Support customer follow‑up, order tracking, vendor coordination, and logistics communication
- Work with the founder on active sales opportunities, strategic accounts, and operational priorities
- Improve quoting, order entry, purchasing, vendor updates, customer communication, and internal workflows
- Identify bottlenecks and help solve them through better process, automation, delegation, or system design
- Help build a lean, scalable operating model that increases output without adding unnecessary headcount
This role is based in San Mateo, California and is expected to be on‑site during the initial build phase.
For an exceptional non‑local candidate, temporary housing or relocation support may be discussed.
This is not a remote‑first role initially. It may become more flexible over time as systems, trust, and operating rhythm develop.
