Job Summary
Outpatient Oncology Clinical Nurse II serves in a leadership role and delivers direct patient care to an adult oncology outpatient population. The nurse is experienced and highly skilled with in-depth knowledge of the cancer disease process, major treatment modalities, symptom management, supportive care, and patient education.
At this operational level, the nurse proactively embraces the Oncology Nursing Society/Standards of Oncology Nursing practice, utilizing the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. The nurse uses an interdisciplinary approach across the continuum of care with adherence to National Patient Safety Goals set forth by regulatory requirements. The nurse is recognized as a clinical resource and demonstrates investment in the overall forward movement of the unit and the organization.
Salary: $93.47 – $121.11 hourly. Final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Required Qualifications- Minimum 5 years of recent outpatient medical oncology nursing experience
- Chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration experience
- Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
- Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
- Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
- Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Cancer Services on the Peninsula locations
- OCN Certification or other relevant specialty certification
- 2 years or more of recent GI Medical Oncology experience and/or Hematology experience
- 1 year of telephone triage nursing experience
- BSN
- Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
- Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
