Hospital PACU Nurse | San Mateo, California

Provide expert nursing care as an RN in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) with a focus on ambulatory surgery patients. This contract role is based in San Mateo, CA, primarily supporting post-operative recovery while occasionally assisting in preoperative care. The position offers a weekday schedule with no weekend or on-call responsibilities, making it ideal for professionals seeking predictable hours.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• California RN license (required)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Experience in ambulatory care highly preferred
• Ability and willingness to float between preoperative and PACU areas, with an emphasis on PACU care

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, no weekends or call
• Day shift, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts
• Shift times vary between 6:00 AM and 7:30 PM, with typical hours from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM

Core Responsibilities:

• Monitor and provide nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia
• Assess patient condition, manage pain, and prevent complications during the immediate postoperative period
• Collaborate closely with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
• Support preoperative procedures as needed, ensuring patient readiness and comfort
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
