Ambulatory Care Nurse

San Mateo Medical Center is seeking experienced Ambulatory Care Nurses for outpatient clinics across San Mateo County. Full‑time and part‑time roles are available at clinics in San Mateo, Redwood City, Daly City, South San Francisco, and Half Moon Bay.

Provide professional nursing care in a clinic setting, including assessment, triage, education, medication management, and coordination of patient care. Lead and train nursing and paraprofessional staff as required. Offer preventive care and emergency response in the community and specialty clinics.

• Perform patient assessments, triage and record histories, symptoms, and observations.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans through assessment, activation, and evaluation.
• Participate in patient case conferences and rounds.
• Organize, assign, and supervise other staff; orient and teach new team members.
• Administer prescribed treatments and medications.
• Identify problems, gather data, propose solutions, and participate in quality assurance activities.
• Coordinate patient centered care based on evidence‑based guidelines.
• Maintain and prepare records, reports, and documents.
• Operate a variety of medical machinery and equipment.
• Provide preventive and acute care to patients in community and specialty clinics.
• Check vital signs, give injections, perform wound care, catheterization, phlebotomy, and point‑of‑care testing.
• Run immunization clinics, blood drives, and public seminars as needed.
• Assist in managing doses according to protocols and physician instructions.
• Perform related duties as assigned by the clinical assignment.

• California Registered Nurse license and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification may be required for some positions.
• Knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act, current nursing theory, safety and infection control, and clinical systems.
• Clinical skills: perform nursing procedures, maintain professional relationships, communicate with diverse patients, assist in instruction of personnel, and comply with safety practices.
• Ability to work in a busy environment; perform physical tasks such as moving patients or lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Computer literacy; experience with electronic medical records (E‑Clinical Works preferred) and registries.
• Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
• At least one year of health‑care experience, ideally as an RN.

Hourly: $59.49–$70.31
Biweekly: $4,759.20–$5,624.80
Monthly: $10,311.60–$12,187.07
