Specific Responsibilities
  • Designing, validating, and performing cell-based, biochemical, immunology, and virology assays.
  • Constructing and propagating mutant viruses.
  • Evaluating EC50 of selected drug candidates against mutant viruses.
  • Understanding MOA of lead compounds in clinical settings.
  • Interpreting results.
  • Proactively troubleshooting technical challenges and recommending potential solutions based on personal observations and/or literature searches.
Essential Duties and Job Functions
  • Plans and executes experiments that support research activities and project goals.
  • Demonstrates and applies a high level of understanding of project goals and methods.
  • With general guidance and direction, selects appropriate methods and techniques in performing experiments.
  • Recommends creative solutions to problems, researches new methods and techniques, and may proactively seek out senior personnel to discuss potential solutions to problems.
  • Works with limited to minimal supervision on projects of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Participates in group meetings.
  • Clearly presents results of work, interprets data, and draws conclusions regarding presented material and nature of work.
Qualifications
  • Typically requires a BS/BA or MS degree in Immunology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or other related life science discipline, and a minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in one or more of the following techniques:
    • Primary cell isolation and culture
    • ELISA/Luminex
    • Molecular biology techniques such as RNA/DNA isolation
    • qPCR
    • Cloning
    • Virus production
    • Immune cell functional assays
    • Multi‑color FACS
  • The candidate should be a creative and goal‑oriented problem solver capable of working independently.
  • The candidate must be able to process data and evaluate data quality, including recognizing anomalous and inconsistent results.
  • The candidate should have strong organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to work effectively in cross‑functional teams.
