Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer
We are building a small team of talented and enthusiastic leaders to create new peripheral and accessory products for the Play Station community. We need an experienced and innovative electrical engineer to imagine and architect our next generation systems.
Responsibilities- Lead firmware architecture for embedded devices
- Develop and define new communication protocols as needed to enable peripheral functionality
- Collaborate with internal SW teams and UX designers to establish requirements
- Manage the development and validation of firmware with support from engineering partners
- Support and continue to enhance products after launch
- A technically strong and independent engineer with a software/firmware background
- Skilled at managing the firmware development efforts of other engineers
- System-focused software design
- Engaged at both the product design level (what should it do?) and the detailed engineering level (how should it be built)
- Experienced with wireless products and new product development from initial concept through mass production
- Effective bridging from a small core team working with and within large organizations
- Comfortable spanning from high level program strategy and management to detailed engineering implementation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience leading embedded firmware development
- Experience in the video game industry is not required, but interest and passion for gaming experience, digital entertainment, consumer electronics, and technology is vital
- Small team environment; feels like a start-up within a large organization!
- Travel (domestic and international) required. Estimated 15%
The estimated base pay range for this role is $209,900—$314,900 USD.
