Position Overview

Senior Software Development Engineer (Platform) – Arena PLM, Hybrid San Mateo, CA. The role focuses on building and sustaining platform services for a cloud‑based Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) SaaS application used by leading high‑tech and medical‑device manufacturers.

• Design and implement robust backend solutions using Java, Scala, and Python to support the SaaS platform.
• Document project requirements and technical design specifications for clear cross‑team communication.
• Develop and maintain tools that enhance platform reliability and developer productivity.
• Build and deliver features that meet customer needs and business objectives.
• Participate in innovative initiatives that push the boundaries of PLM technology.
• Engage in technical discussions, conduct code reviews, and share knowledge to elevate team capabilities.
• Design complicated features from end to end and lead feature teams to deliver on time with high quality.

• Strong proficiency in Java with the ability to write clean, high‑quality code.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills in high‑pressure situations.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Understanding of modern software development cycles and pull‑request processes.
• Experience using AI tools to accelerate delivery demonstrates forward‑thinking technical aptitude.
• Fast learner, self‑motivated, and adaptable to changing priorities.

• Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration and management.
• Familiarity with Git Hub workflows, including pull requests, Git Hub Actions, and Copilot.
• Knowledge of the Spring Framework ecosystem, especially Spring Boot and Spring Security.
• Prior experience with cloud‑based SaaS platforms.
• Understanding of PLM or QMS software systems.
• Background serving high‑tech manufacturing or medical‑device industries.
• Experience delivering enterprise AI applications.

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $150,000–$165,000, varying with skills, experience, and location. Additional compensation may include a performance‑based bonus, participation in the employee share purchase program, and eligibility for equity programs.
