Senior Oracle Developer – San Mateo, CA
Hybrid (3 days a week in office).
Job Description- Support and enhance the company’s PLMs (Product Lifecycle Management) physical data models deployed on Oracle.
- Contribute to the application design and development by devising an optimal data model and efficient PL/SQL code for various domain problems.
- Contribute to the design and development of schema objects, technical review of SQL code with peers, and design review with other team members.
- Re‑factor poorly performing SQL and undertake system and application tuning activities, including tuning SQL queries and the database/system.
- Write high quality SQL and PL/SQL code to implement new product features.
- Participate in a scrum‑based, collaborative development process.
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or a related field (or foreign equivalent) plus five (5) years of experience in the field.
- Ability to commute to the office 3 days a week in San Mateo.
- US Citizenship is required.
- Experience designing and developing cloud‑based applications using Oracle involving Online and Batch Mode transaction processing.
- Experience writing PL/SQL stored procedures and SQL queries to implement and maintain product features.
- Experience designing and developing applications for high‑availability systems.
- Experience in three‑tier architecture to provide Database support for applications that use Java/J2EE technologies.
- Experience developing applications in Unix or Linux environments including shell scripting, and using source code control tools like git or svn.
- Experience writing Detailed Technical Design documents, explaining the Data Model, and providing detailed comments in software code.
- Experience communicating software design to development team members, collaborating with functional leaders to understand business requirements, and explaining designed behavior to cross‑functional team members and management.
- Experience supporting and enhancing physical data models deployed on Oracle.
- Experience designing and developing database schema objects.
- Experience designing Database Package procedures to maintain the database tables.
- Experience conducting technical review of SQL code and participating in design reviews.
- Experience in Oracle database performance tuning activities, including tuning SQL queries and database applications, and reviewing Oracle AWR, ASH, and ADDM reports to identify bottlenecks.
- Experience maintaining existing product release code and addressing bugs and enhancements in a timely manner.
- Experience participating in a scrum‑based development process.
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is between $125,500 – $170,000. Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, candidates may be eligible for a performance‑based bonus. Employees also have the opportunity to become a PTC shareholder through the Employee Share Purchase Program (ESPP). Certain roles may also be eligible for participation in equity programs.
