Senior Technical Lead; Golang, Cloud, Kubernetes

Role Overview

Rakuten Symphony is seeking a talented software engineer to join our core CNO platform engineering group. The role involves designing and owning features within the Robin CNO, with focus on Kubernetes, containers, microservices, stateful applications, cloud computing, user management, API design and implementation, infrastructure and service orchestration.

• Design and develop core components of the orchestration stack responsible for production 5G deployments, ensuring high performance and high reliability (5 9’s)
• Design and implement core components of the orchestration stack optimized to run at scale
• Design and build infrastructure and cluster orchestration functions and workflows
• Design and build debuggability, security, compliance, policy, fault management aspects for telco and enterprise infrastructures
• Optimize application for high scale, performance, and usability
• Write unit tests for components
• Learn in depth about distributed systems software like Kubernetes and contribute
• Work closely with customers on designing and developing features
• Work closely with open‑source technologies and contribute
• Guide new team members and help onboard them; mentor fresh graduates to achieve their development goals
• Provide documentation content for various product features

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent field
• 8–12 years of experience
• Strong proficiency in Go, Python, and Rust
• Solid understanding of object‑oriented concepts, distributed systems, and REST/RPC based service development
• Strong proficiency in server‑side, multi‑threaded programming, data structures, asynchronous programming, database design (SQL, PostgreSQL, KV store), and algorithms
• Deep understanding of systems, operating systems, Kubernetes, and containers
