Senior Director, Software Engineering

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical strategy for the Storefront pillar
• Own the full customer-facing storefront experience
• Drive the modernization of the core storefront platform
• Champion the integration of modern AI and Machine Learning capabilities
• Accountable for performance, quality, accessibility, and user experience of the storefront
• Drive the evolution of the Aspire Design System
• Partner closely with Product, Design, and Data Science to leverage A/B testing frameworks
• Ensure storefront pages are technically optimized for SEO
• Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering organization
• Operate as a key technical leader within the broader engineering organization

• 15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering and engineering leadership
• At least 7 years dedicated to e-commerce or high-scale consumer applications
• Significant time leading leaders (managing managers)
• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field strongly preferred
• Extensive hands‑on experience and architectural leadership in modern frontend technologies:
  React, Type Script, Node.js, ES6, modern CSS/tooling, and SSR
• Demonstrated experience architecting Micro-Frontend systems and design systems at scale
• Deep understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, and service orchestration patterns
• Experience designing and operating highly distributed Microservices architectures
• Proven experience building, deploying, and optimizing both iOS and Android native or hybrid applications
• Experience leading initiatives involving AI/ML, Vector Databases, and Recommendation Engines is strongly preferred
• High proficiency with product analytics platforms and strong SQL ability
• Experience owning production reliability for consumer‑facing properties
