Sr Software Engineer; Audio

Responsibilities

• Drive algorithm development and implementation in spatial audio, psychoacoustics, and other audio related fields including HRTF (capture, synthesis, personalization), Ambisonics, loudspeaker rendering, and more.
• Develop requirements based on research or user input and assist with platform integration.
• Systems level multi-threaded programming and debugging using C and C++.
• Collaborate with international counterparts to contribute to Play Station’s Tempest 3D Audio technology and our greater audio ecosystem.

• 5 years or more of digital signal processing experience.
• Proficient in C/C++ and Python.
• Experience as a technical contributor to a project involving spatial audio.
• Solid understanding of basic acoustic and psychoacoustic principles.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

• Basic source control experience (git).
• Knowledge of audio production tools and software (e.g. Reaper, VST Development).
• Embedded systems development.
• Graphics or GPU programming experience.
• ML/AI modeling and training experience.
• Experience in developing novel audio technologies.

• Estimated base pay range: $193,300—$289,900 USD.
