We are building a small team to create new products for the Play Station community. Our team recently delivered the new Play Station Link, PULSE Explore and PULSE Elite products, recently announced the Flex Strike and PULSE Elevate products, and are hard at work on what comes next. We are looking for someone with a data driven mindset, physics background interested or experience with any of the following: audio, embedded firmware, UI/UX and gaming intersection.

ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will lead firmware development for high profile product development efforts. You will be responsible for technical leadership, system architecture, and execution across the firmware domain, working closely with internal teams and external partners.
- Contribute to UI/UX development to support audio devices
- Contribute to developing audio device testing to improve the utilization of audio DSP and develop algorithmic improvements
- Own build and smoke testing process with mentorship from senior engineers
- Author clear specifications for code you contribute to
- Contribute to developing unit test framework
- Communicate clearly, commit and deliver on deadlines
- Support manufacturing builds and coordinate firmware activities during product bring-up
- Support products post-launch
- C/C++ embedded software development
- Experience with UI development - React or other frameworks;
- Knowledge of frequency domain analysis of audio, video streaming
- Knowledge and/or experience with RF/wireless systems (e.g., Bluetooth, low-latency audio, or similar technologies)
- Strong system-level thinking across hardware and software boundaries
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills to drive iterative design process
- Bachelors or Masters in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1-2 years of experience in embedded firmware development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Critical thinking and data driven mindset
- Passion for gaming, audio, digital entertainment and consumer electronics is a plus
- Experience with wireless audio or ultra-low latency systems
- Experience with kernel or driver development (Linux, Windows, or similar)
- Small team environment; feels like a start-up within a large organization
At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role's base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role is eligible for SIE's top-tier benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k), paid time off, wellness program and coveted employee discounts for Sony products.
