Adjunct Faculty – Part Time
Employment Begins:

We are seeking experienced educators to teach transfer-level composition and support the Ethnic Studies and La Raza Studies programs. This temporary assignment may include instruction in courses such as History of Latinos in the United States, Latino Politics, Latin American History, and Latino Film.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum, course outlines, and class schedules.
- Create and maintain a learning environment that encourages free discussion and critical thinking.
- Evaluate student progress, assign and grade work, and maintain accurate records.
- Meet with students outside of class as needed.
- Maintain professional conduct and ethical standards.
- Keep current knowledge in subject matter areas.
- Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum qualification:
Master’s degree in one of the following areas:
African American Studies, Black Studies, Africana Studies, Latino Studies, La Raza Studies, Chicana/o Studies, Asian American Studies, Native American Studies, American Indian Studies, or a master’s in Ethnic Studies. Equivalent educational experience may be considered.
Desirable qualifications:
More than two years of college teaching or community education experience; graduate‑level coursework in Chicano/a/x and Latino/a/x Studies and Ethnic Studies; competency in teaching U.S. Latino history and politics.
Understanding and sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds, including academic, socioeconomic, cultural, sexual orientation, and ethnic contexts. Equivalency petitions may be submitted if the minimum qualifications are met via equivalency.

Employment StatusPart‑time faculty – temporary assignment (pay range $77.87–$128.97 per hour, up to $151.16). The position will remain until fulfilled.
