The Senior Accountant is responsible for daily cash management, key parts of the monthly close accounting cycle, and quarterly and yearly reporting. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location. Expected starting base salary $91,500 to $112,300 per year.

Job Description:
  • Perform day to day financial transactions including initiating and recording deposits, transfers, and ACH activities.
  • Monitor cash projections and prepare drawdown documents when cash needs to be raised from investment accounts.
  • In coordination with the Development Department, reconcile contribution and bequest revenue monthly in the GL to Salesforce.
  • Record investment activity in the GL including transfers, reconciling balance statements, recording purchases, sales, dividends, and gains/losses on the portfolio.
  • Maintain workbooks for restricted contributions and pledges. This includes properly recording restricted (both time and purpose) donations and pledges in the workbooks, recording pledge payments, and releasing restrictions based upon parameters. Assist in tracking CLUB balances.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts and record journal entries and reclassifications.
  • Assist with all fixed asset accounting and reporting, including maintaining policies over fixed assets and records all new assets and disposals in accordance with policy, working with other departments to ensure accuracy.
  • Reconcile inventory cost of goods sold for online and physical gift shops.
  • Responsible for timely filing of annual 403(b) census reporting and responsible for the annual 403(b) audit; this includes coordinating with the audit firm and preparation of all audit schedules.
  • Responsible for timely filing of annual property taxes, and quarterly sales tax returns.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports for GDB International (Canada) in CAD and USD.
  • Assist with the audit of the annual financial statements and tax returns by preparing schedules and documents as requested.
