Position SummaryThe Associate Director, Government Pricing (GP) is a strategic and operational leader responsible for ensuring full compliance with U.S. government pricing regulations while shaping pricing strategy across the organization. This role serves as a key subject matter expert, advising cross‑functional stakeholders on the downstream impact of commercial decisions on government pricing metrics and obligations. The role reports to Government Pricing Director.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in government pricing with strong business acumen, enabling them to influence strategy, optimize processes, and ensure accurate and compliant reporting in a complex and evolving regulatory environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Government Pricing Director for all activities related to:
- Government pricing calculations, submissions, and compliance, including AMP, ASP, Best Price, PHS, and FSS/VA
- Government contracting processes and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements
- Strategic guidance on the government pricing implications of commercial contracting decisions
- Third‑party vendor management supporting Medicaid, TRICARE, and Medicare Part D rebate processing
- Internal & external audit teams to complete SOX control and other audit‑related activities
- Partner with Customer Operations and Order‑to‑Cash teams to maintain accurate class of trade and membership data
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments in collaboration with Government Affairs; assess and communicate potential business impact
- Support financial planning by advising on gross‑to‑net assumptions and pricing impacts
- Identify and implement process improvements, systems enhancements, and automation opportunities to strengthen compliance and operational efficiency
- 10+ years of experience in pricing, finance, contracting, or a related analytical function within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
- Minimum 5 years of direct, hands‑on government pricing experience
- Deep expertise in U.S. government pricing methodologies, including AMP, ASP, Best Price, PHS, and FSS/VA
- Strong understanding of current regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks
- Experience working with third‑party vendors and rebate processing systems
- Familiarity with state Medicaid operations is a plus
- Experience presenting complex analyses and recommendations to senior and executive‑level audiences
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and governance forums
