Estimator Heavy Civil

• Salary $120,000 to $150,000 DOE

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering or similar preferred.
• Minimum 3 years estimating experience with heavy civil – earthwork, underground utilities (storm, sewer, water) paving, concrete and highway.
• Experience with Caltrans, HCSS Heavybid, AGTEK, Microsoft Office Suite.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings and project specifications.

• Preparing estimates of the cost of materials, labor and equipment for a construction project.
• Understanding and reading schemes to make estimates of the cost of the project.
• Establishing and maintaining the tendering(bidding) process.
• Setting up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
• Maintaining a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.
• Working with engineers, architects, owners, and contractors on feasibility studies and making adjustments to the cost when needed.
• Managing and coordinating construction projects and preparing construction progress schedules.
