Job Overview
The EXL Assistant Coordinator is a School-Based position that supports the implementation and daily operations of high-quality expanded learning programs that promote the academic, social-emotional, and developmental growth of K–12 youth. This role requires a compassionate, curious, humble, accountable, and purpose-driven leader who builds strong relationships with students, families, school partners, and staff while supporting program quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
The Assistant Coordinator serves as a key leadership partner to the Program Coordinator and may oversee site operations in the Program Coordinator's absence.
- Pay rate: $29 per hour, based on regional grant funding and experience.
- Full-Time / Non-Exempt, 40 hours per week, year-round.
- Up to 16 paid BACR holidays and 25 school holidays per year.

- Build positive relationships with students and create opportunities for youth voice, leadership, and belonging.
- Support student social-emotional learning through restorative practices, conflict resolution, de-escalation strategies, and positive behavior supports.
- Recognize when students require additional support and communicate concerns to the Program Coordinator and school‑day partners.
- —Cultivate positive relationships with families, caregivers, school personnel, and community partners.
- —Support family engagement opportunities and maintain regular communication with caregivers.
- —Promote equitable access to programming and ensure all students feel welcomed, respected, and supported.
- Support the implementation of project-based, culturally responsive, and enrichment-focused programming aligned with school‑day learning and youth interests.
- Assist with developing schedules, lesson plans, materials, and systems that support high-quality program implementation.
- Monitor student participation, attendance, engagement, and progress to support program improvement efforts.
- Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) processes and utilize data to strengthen academic support, literacy activities, enrichment programming, and small-group interventions.
- Support the Coordinator in facilitating trainings, staff meetings, and program events.
- Collaborate with school‑day staff and stakeholders to support student development and academic success.
- Remain informed about best practices in youth development and expanded learning.
- Support the creation of inclusive, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed learning environments.
- Collaborate effectively with students, families, school personnel, community partners, and BACR team members.
- Foster an equitable and inclusive program culture through respectful communication and cultural responsiveness.
- Demonstrate self‑awareness by seeking feedback, reflecting on practice, and responding constructively to challenges.
- Support implementation of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) principles throughout program operations.
- Assist with coaching, modeling, and supporting frontline staff through collaborative leadership practices.
- Contribute to a positive team culture built on trust, accountability, and mutual respect.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional and ethical standards in all interactions.
- Ensure compliance with BACR policies, district requirements, grant regulations, and program expectations.
- Assist with attendance tracking, student records, incident documentation, compliance reporting, and other required documentation.
- Submit reports, attendance records, snack reports, and required program documentation accurately and on time.
