One of our clients, a mission driven Non-profit that helps low income families and children get the support they need to thrive, is searching for an experienced Director of Finance and Operations. If you speak Spanish, this is a great organization to join and use those precious language skills. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location. Expected starting base salary $135,000 to $145,000 per year.

Job Description:
  • Present the agency's finances to partners, government specialists, foundation executives, auditors, public officials, and others as needed.
  • Manage cash, investments, and other assets to ensure the availability of funds.
  • Oversee the proper maintenance and advancement of strong internal controls and fiscal policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate the preparation and communication of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage annual audits and ensure accurate and timely filing of organizational tax returns.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.
  • Regularly present to the Board of Directors and its relevant subcommittees regarding the agency's financial position.
  • Oversee the Facilities Department and ensure the maintenance of all organization facilities.
  • Supervise the agency's technology service provider and oversee procurement and maintenance of equipment.
Requirements:
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
  • Able to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences
  • Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills
Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role, preferably with experience in a nonprofit with a budget of at least $10 million and/or a highly regulated industry.
  • Experience in or knowledge of nonprofit fiscal management and government contracts.
  • Experience working with government entities at the federal, state, and local levels.
