Job Description:
- Present the agency's finances to partners, government specialists, foundation executives, auditors, public officials, and others as needed.
- Manage cash, investments, and other assets to ensure the availability of funds.
- Oversee the proper maintenance and advancement of strong internal controls and fiscal policies and procedures.
- Facilitate the preparation and communication of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage annual audits and ensure accurate and timely filing of organizational tax returns.
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.
- Regularly present to the Board of Directors and its relevant subcommittees regarding the agency's financial position.
- Oversee the Facilities Department and ensure the maintenance of all organization facilities.
- Supervise the agency's technology service provider and oversee procurement and maintenance of equipment.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
- Able to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences
- Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- CPA and/or MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership role, preferably with experience in a nonprofit with a budget of at least $10 million and/or a highly regulated industry.
- Experience in or knowledge of nonprofit fiscal management and government contracts.
- Experience working with government entities at the federal, state, and local levels.
