Job OverviewAnalyze credit information to support lending decisions and processes for new and existing commercial banking loans and credit solutions within an assigned portfolio of clients. Make credit decisions and recommendations in compliance with bank policies while maintaining an exceptional client service environment. Negotiate loan structures and terms that align client requirements with the bank’s risk appetite and policies.
Responsibilities- Assess client repayment capacity using financial models and analytical tools, recommending appropriate loan structures and collateral requirements.
- Sign off on new, renewal, and extension loans within delegated authority.
- Monitor portfolio performance, identify deteriorating credit conditions, and analyze compliance metrics and industry trends to spot risks and opportunities.
- Evaluate portfolio performance and recommend capital allocation strategies to optimize returns.
- Lead proposal development and deliver presentations to capture new business and expand client relationships.
- Network with industry contacts to gather competitive insights and best practices.
- Develop and execute business development plans focused on enhancing client relationships and growth opportunities within the portfolio.
- Build and maintain client relationships, collaborating with Relationship Managers and business partners to ensure long‑term financial performance.
- Conduct financial analysis and risk assessments of clients’ credit information for the assigned portfolio, providing insights for informed decisions.
- Minimize risk exposure by adhering to credit policies, regulatory standards, and operational guidelines.
- Serve as a point of contact for service requests, ensuring expectations are consistently met or exceeded, and escalating issues when needed.
- Identify revenue and cross‑selling opportunities to enhance portfolio growth, including share‑of‑wallet opportunities.
- Leverage analysis tools to nurture and grow a portfolio that exceeds ROE thresholds and evaluates client returns proactively.
- Maintain timely and accurate data entry into BMO systems and leverage data to support decision‑making.
- Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules, working independently on non‑routine situations.
- Preferred 5–7 years of relevant experience in credit or lending instruments or financial operations in a corporate or banking environment.
- Knowledge of credit qualifications and associated credit knowledge and skills according to the credit portfolio requirements and qualification standards.
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Business Administration, Finance, and Accounting preferred (any related discipline or commensurate experience is considered). - Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.

- Salary range: $88,800.00 – $ (salaried).
Pay type:
