At Simon Med Imaging, the MRI Cardiac Monitoring Registered Nurse plays a critical clinical role in ensuring patient safety during MRI exams, particularly for pacemaker‑dependent and cardiac patients. This role combines advanced cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and radiology support to ensure safe, seamless imaging experiences.

Responsibilities- Advanced cardiac monitoring expertise: Interpret EKGs, identify arrhythmias, and monitor cardiac activity to ensure patient safety throughout MRI procedures.
- MRI safety and clinical judgment: Apply specialized knowledge of MRI safety protocols, particularly for patients with implanted cardiac devices and complex medical conditions.
- Strong procedural and IV skills: Start IVs, administer medications as ordered, and manage contrast reactions according to established clinical protocols.
- Critical thinking in high‑acuity settings: Assess patient condition in real time, respond to emergencies, and make sound clinical decisions in fast‑paced environments.
- Collaborative care approach: Work closely with technologists, radiologists, and clinical staff to ensure coordinated, efficient, and safe patient care.
- Strong documentation and communication skills: Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient data in EMR systems while maintaining clear communication with care teams.
- Direct impact on patient safety: Expertise ensures high‑risk cardiac patients can safely undergo MRI imaging when clinically appropriate.
- Advanced imaging nursing experience: Work at the intersection of cardiology, radiology, and outpatient procedural care in a specialized clinical environment.
- High collaboration environment: Partner with imaging and clinical teams to deliver coordinated, high‑quality patient care.
- Skill development in specialized care: Expand expertise in MRI safety, cardiac monitoring, and outpatient radiology nursing.
- Purpose‑driven clinical work: Every intervention directly supports safe diagnostic imaging and patient outcomes.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment required.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (acute care, radiology, or outpatient setting preferred).
- Experience with EKG monitoring and IV therapy required.
- Additional training in cardiac monitoring, radiology nursing, or IV therapy strongly preferred.
- Strong ability to interpret EKGs and cardiac rhythms.
- Knowledge of MRI safety protocols, especially for patients with implanted devices.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical documentation skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high‑stress or emergency situations.
- Onsite clinical imaging environment with frequent movement between patient care areas.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and hands‑on patient care.
- Ability to assist and position patients, including those with limited mobility (up to 40 lbs with assistance).
- Requires physical stamina, manual dexterity, and visual acuity for monitoring and documentation.
- Exposure to fast‑paced outpatient clinical and radiology settings.
