The Media Manager is responsible for overseeing the ingest, acquisition, organization, cataloging, storage, and distribution of media assets within Pac-12 Enterprises. In addition to this primary responsibility, you will execute transmission technical workflows to ensure high-quality, reliable, and accurate delivery of live broadcasts produced by Pac-12 Enterprises. This position will report to the Director of Transmission, Media & Asset Management, and will provide technical and operational support to daily productions and broadcast workflows, focusing on media management, ingest, and transmission.
This position requires strong technical knowledge of media asset management systems (MAM), local and cloud storage, ingest workflows, live video transmission encoding and decoding, and overall broadcast operations verification standards. Excellent communication and coordination skills are required as this role will work closely with engineering, IT/systems, and production teams internally, in addition to direct communication with vendors and clients of Pac-12 Enterprises.
ResponsibilitiesMedia Management
- Manage and maintain the media asset management (MAM) system, ensuring all media is correctly tagged, organized, and stored.
- Oversee media ingest for all Pac-12 Enterprise productions and requested media
- Oversee timely delivery and distribution of media to stakeholders.
- Manage and monitor storage levels and deletion of assets as required.
- Enforce metadata, naming conventions, and filing requirements for all media assets.
- Respond to media requests from internal departments, external partners, and clients.
- Oversee Pac-12’s robust archive and ensure long-term preservation and accessibility for future monetization.
- Digitize and store acquired or owned tape-based formats.
- Lead efforts to monetize Pac-12’s archival library.
- Develop a system to catalog and log owned archival footage.
- Monitor and manage on‑air broadcast signals from Pac-12 Enterprises.
- Manage and monitor signal flow from venues, remote operations, and control rooms to ensure uninterrupted, high‑quality broadcast and streaming.
- Responsible for detecting, diagnosing, and resolving transmission issues and outages promptly.
- Coordination and scheduling of transmission resources.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to confirm signal routing, connectivity, and quality standards.
- Assist in the planning, configuration, and implementation of new transmission workflows, technologies, and infrastructure.
- Support live event production teams with technical setup and communication related to signal transport.
- Maintain up‑to‑date documentation of standard operating procedures, signal paths, and transmission checklists.
- Monitor industry trends and evaluate new technologies to enhance transmission reliability, efficiency, and scalability.
- Work with Engineering and the Director, Transmission & Media, to develop and implement signal redundancy and disaster recovery protocols.
- Participate in vendor relations and support engineering for transmission equipment and services.

- Minimum 5 years of experience in media management, live video transmission, or broadcast operations within a TV or digital media network environment.
- Experience with MAM systems (e.g., Dalet, Iconik, etc.).
- Strong understanding of media formats (HD/UHD, MXF, MOV, Pro Res, XDCAM, etc.).
- Deep understanding of video signal formats, compression standards, and transport protocols (e.g., SDI, IP, SRT, Fiber, etc.).
- Hands‑on experience with signal routing systems, monitoring tools, and transmission infrastructure (e.g., Evertz, TAG, Imagine).
- Familiarity with transmission workflows.
- Proven ability to perform in high‑pressure environments with tight production timelines.
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple live feeds and troubleshoot complex signal issues in real‑time.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as dictated by the live sports calendar.
