Overview
If you love working with students as much as you love studying science, we want to meet you! At BATC, we believe a tutor's academic expertise is just as important as their ability to effectively convey the subject matter to students of all levels and backgrounds. We are seeking personable, focused, and enthusiastic individuals to tutor Chemistry at our center in San Ramon, CA.
We are currently pursuing applicants that can join our academic team now and can definitively continue with the program through the academic year at a very minimum. The current available position is ideal for a candidate who is very strong in Chemistry including the AP Chem content.
- 1 part-time position (12-18 hrs/wk)
This is not a remote tutoring position. All training will take place in our San Ramon center. Chem tutor positions require availability during the school year (a combination of shifts), Mon-Thurs 3:30-10 pm and weekends 10 am-9 pm. Our Summer sessions are held Mon-Thurs 11-7:30 pm.
Working at BATC:
- Pay is $33/hr and up, DOE
- We offer set shifts; your regular hours are guaranteed whether or not we are able to schedule students in them.
- Paid training, prep time, and staff meetings
- Tutors who work 24+ hrs/wk are eligible for full-time benefits, including company-subsidized health insurance
Chem tutors must have a thorough understanding of and ability to teach Chemistry through the AP level. Prior tutoring experience is preferred and a bachelor s degree (or ongoing study toward a degree) is required. Tutors must be able to take initiative and work independently. At the same time, we expect tutors to collaborate with each other to develop and/or expand curricula.
All candidates will be given an assessment test in their subject prior to interviewing.
