Senior Archaeologist

ResponsibilitiesThe individual will be responsible for overall management and direct supervision, including fieldwork, of all types of archaeological field and historic preservation projects, ranging from small local surveys through large, multi-year energy projects, marketing, proposal development, client coordination, regulatory and tribal consultation. Assist with implementation of budgets, research designs, work plans, schedules, analyses and reporting. The Senior Archaeologist will work closely with other cultural resources and environmental staff in TRC's Planning, Permitting, and Licensing practice.
The candidate will have the potential to bring in new work and possess solid relationships with the SHPO, THPOs, and other Federal, State, and Municipal Government archaeological staff in California and across the west in general.
- Graduate degree (M.A. or Ph.D.) in anthropology, archaeology, architectural history, or historic preservation.
- 10 or more years' experience of progressive experience in the archaeology and/or architectural history of California and the surrounding region.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations, environmental review processes, and compliance requirements (e.g., Section 106 and California Environmental Quality Act - CEQA);
- SPECIFIC PERMITTING REQUIREMENTS for state and federal lands (ARPA and Fieldwork Authorization permits).
- Meet the Secretary of Interior's Professional Qualifications for Archaeology, History, Architectural History, or Historic Architecture.
- Previous project experience working on federal (e.g., BLM, USFS, NPS, ACOE, BIA) and state lands (e.g., California State Parks).
- Regional experience that would allow for immediate permitting with the local offices of federal agencies (e.g., BLM, USFS, BOR, etc.) and obtaining other permits as needed.
- Previous experience in following states is preferable: CA, OR, WA, NV, AZ.
- Excellent communication skills, including writing, editing, peer-reviewing, public speaking.
- Excellent interpersonal and management skills.
- Ability to accomplish tasks in a timely manner, with a track record of meeting deadlines and budgets and producing high quality reports.
- A commitment to safety.
- Familiarity with digital data recordation and management.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record; and
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screen.

Compensation :
In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation:
Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
Salary Range USD $36.06 - USD $45.68 /Hr.
