  • Pay Rate: $52.00–$55.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Equipment:
    Client laptop will be provided. In case of delays, supplier to provide/help in providing a device to start the assignment. Extra monitors and docking station must be vendor-provided or personal.
  • PPE:
    Required at some point; may submit expense for reimbursement with prior manager approval.
  • Travel Reimbursement:
    With prior manager approval, may submit expense for reimbursement for any mileage/travel that the role may require outside of the primary work location.
  • Work Authorization:
    Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

This Electrical Engineer role is a fully onsite, contract position based at the San Ramon Conference Center, supporting a large energy utility's distribution engineering and analytics operations. The position focuses on leveraging smart meter data, predictive analytics, and machine learning-driven insights to identify and prioritize transformer defects and overhead/underground electrical line defects, translating those results into actionable guidance for field operations and asset management teams.

Required Skills

  • Familiarity with electric distribution line equipment, protective device settings, electric distribution operations, and distribution power flow analysis
  • Ability to interpret Smart Meter data and predictive alerts and translate results into actionable insights for field operations and asset management teams to predict and prioritize transformer defects and overhead/underground electrical line defects
  • Experience working with large datasets (e.g., historical defect data, inspection records, and operational data) to improve model accuracy and reduce false positives
  • Experience collaborating with field operations, Protection & Control, and engineering teams to validate machine learning driven predictions
  • Thorough investigative skills
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of distribution engineering

Education Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering required
