De Novo Retail Relationship Banker

Overview

This Bank Manager plays a critical role in our DeNovo branch expansion. You will launch new locations, shape team culture, drive client growth, and build strong community relationships. BMO customers and prospects expect exceptional service and need‑based solutions.

• Identify customer needs and provide advice on financial solutions.
• Collaborate across the branch and with BMO partners to deliver the desired customer experience and achieve business objectives.
• Lead proactive engagement with existing customers and prospects through needs assessments, building loyalty and identifying opportunities.
• Recommend tailored solutions covering everyday banking, retail investments, personal and small‑business lending, and home financing.
• Offer advice on digital and self‑serve options to simplify banking.
• Support transaction needs and drive business growth by generating appointments and building community relationships.
• Address questions and resolve issues through consumer credit audits, quality checks, and compliance with legal, regulatory, and lending policies.
• Apply risk management framework to protect the bank’s assets and maintain portfolio quality.
• Make credit recommendations for personal lending transactions in line with policies.
• Integrate marketing promotions and programs into customer conversations.
• Maintain accurate, complete work information and seek creative approaches to enhance customer experience.
• Assist in continuous improvement of overall customer experience.
• Adapt work location and schedule as market needs, including week‑to‑week variation.
• Follow risk and compliance processes to safeguard customers’ assets and privacy.
• Stay current with the financial services marketplace, regulations, and ethical requirements.
• Identify and report suspicious activity related to money laundering.
• Handle complex tasks, escalations, and analytics within established limits.
• Take measured risks within the Risk Management Framework, aligning decisions to strategy and policy.

• Typically 2‑3 years of relevant experience and a post‑secondary degree in a related field, or equivalent education/experience.
• Canada only:
  Registration to sell investment products, appropriate lending qualifications, and designations.
• Working knowledge of personal and small‑business customer needs, retail investments, and lending products.
• Experience in financial services and a consultative customer service/sales role.
• Proficiency with social media, tablets, smartphones, and online tools.
• Strong interpersonal, listening, problem‑solving, and creative response skills.
• Excellent verbal & written communication, organization, collaboration, and analytical abilities.
• U.S. Only:
  Originator of consumer loans under Regulation Z, Regulation G, and S.A.F.E. Act, with required federal registration.
• Criminal background review and credit history evaluation will be required.

• Salaried: $45,900.00 – $75,900.00 (regional/prorated basis). Commissions and incentives may apply.
