Ansible Developer
Manage permissions for organization & teams in the Ansible Tower. Define, maintain and control policies applied to various systems, including servers, network devices, load balancers, etc. Develop code, test, implement Ansible playbooks to automate provisioning of servers, on and off premise, manage configuration of machines at regular intervals, prevent configuration drifts from occurring & setting standard configuration files or objects applicable to the Chevron environment.
Develop code and implement Ansible Compliance playbooks to automate security compliance and hardening of systems, setting proper permissions to files and automated patching. Control and Maintain all modules within Ansible Module Library and use Visual Studio Team Service (VSTS) as source control for source code.
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in Ansible playbook development
- Strong knowledge of Source Code Control Systems: VSTS and GIT
- Experience with YAML, Azure, Cloud instance standup, environment monitoring.
- Demonstrated experience in at least 2 of the following areas:
Experience developing applications, databases, PostgreSQL, Python, MySQL, Windows SQL, REST APIs, and JavaScript / Power Shell based web service APIs and Ansible Tower - Strong understanding of relevant software development tools including version control, build processes, debuggers, and test frameworks
- Familiarity and experience in Python programming technologies on Linux-based platforms
- Experience with continuous integration and development practices, Hudson/Jenkins or another CI systems a plus
- Exhibits strong oral and written communication skills including group presentation, facilitation and training skills
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, crisis management and problem-solving skills are essentials
- Strong analytical, teamwork and customer engagement skills
- Communicates clearly and tactfully
- Ensures information is accurate and complete
- Self-motivated and open to learn all aspects of cloud administration
- Must be willing to teach and share all knowledge with team members and other operational teams
- Basic understanding and ability to script automated processes
- Able to utilize web searches combining information snippets and assembling them to a usable documentation or script
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Python and other modern scripting languages a plus
