We are looking for a Full Stack Developer based in Latin America to work on a long-term project for one of our clients, a software company based in San Ramon, California.
Our client provides cloud solutions trusted by governments across the globe to accelerate their digital transformation, deliver vital services, and build stronger communities.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance APIs by triaging bugs, fixing regressions, writing tests, and managing dependencies.
- Manage databases by designing and reviewing migrations, maintaining structure dumps, and coordinating data changes.
- Operate and optimize background jobs by monitoring queues, troubleshooting failures, and improving performance.
- Improve documentation, scripts, and local setup, and support smoother upgrades.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure clear API contracts for frontend and backend integrations.
Requirements
- Advanced Level of English
- 5+ years of experience building and maintaining Ruby on Rails applications, with exposure to legacy codebases and older gems.
- 3+ years of experience with SQL/Postgre
SQL, covering database migrations and basic PostGIS usage. - Familiarity with AWS and AWS services, such as SQS and SNS.
- Working knowledge of Docker, docker-compose, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working with Redis and Resque (or similar job queues).
- Exposure to search technologies such as Elasticsearch.
- Understanding PHP to coordinate with other backend services.
Bonus Points
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related fields.
- Experience supporting production systems, collaborating with support teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Experience working with legacy systems and identifying opportunities for modernization.
- Ability to navigate multiple services and tech stacks to ensure effective cross-team collaboration.
